Jonathan Luigs Out Until Training Camp After Undergoing Arthroscopic Surgery

On the same day that it was reported that Kyle Cook signed his one-year tender worth $470,000, the Bengals backup center Jonathan Luigs reportedly went under the knife. Geoff Hobson writes that Luigs will be "shelved until training camp after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on what he called soft tissue damage' in his hips."

Luigs, a fourth-round pick in last year's NFL draft, played in eight games in 2009 before being placed on the team's weekly inactive list during the team's final six games of the season. He played in mop-up garbage-duty against the Bears when the Bengals dominated Chicago 45-10. Aside from that, when Luigs did play, he was primarily a special teams guy.
