Last week (actually eight days ago), the NFL announced each team's opponents for the preseason and which weekend that game would occur. Aside from the national games that were announced, two for the Bengals, the times and exact dates weren't made known.
Joe Reedy writes that the Bengals second weekend matchup against the Denver Broncos will take place on August 15 at 7 P.M, which is a Sunday. Aside from being nationally televised games, it seems rare that a preseason game would take place on a Sunday night. Not that I'm complaining; just weird. We suspect that Channel 12 will carry the game live if it's a sellout. And if not, it'll be shown at 11:35 PM that night -- this is the part where the game on Sunday night would suck.
Here's the updated chart of when the games will take place.
Date | Opponent | Time |
Sunday, August 8 | Dallas Cowboys (Hall of Fame Game) | 8:00 PM (NBC) |
August 15 | Denver Broncos | 7:00 PM |
Friday, August 20 | Philadelphia Eagles | 8:00 PM (FOX) |
August 28 | @ Buffalo Bills | 6:30 PM |
September 2 | @ Indianapolis Colts | 7:00 PM |
UPDATE: Bengals.com updated the team's preseason schedule to include their preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts. The game, on September at 7 PM, is a Thursday night game which likely broadcast on Local 12.
UPDATE II: The team's fourth preseason game has a date and time now, writes Bengals.com. On Saturday, August 28, the Bengals will play the Bills in Buffalo with a kickoff time of 6:30 PM.
