Reggie Kelly is so hopeful that he'll return with the Bengals that he's hoping to be in town next week, according to Geoff Hobson. With Jermaine Gresham and Chase Coffman having a combined ZERO games played in the NFL, a guy like Reggie Kelly will mentor these guys; not just in the art of blocking, or catching a few passes. Rather being model teammates and helping them transition their lives into professional football.
+ Marvin Lewis on Adam Jones after the first OTA sessions:
"I was impressed with his quickness and his ability to break and cut," Lewis said. "I saw that last week. That's what impressed us on the workout on the field. ... He's been diligent with things, and that's impressed me as well."
+ Most of the injuries suffered last year seem to be recovering; most notably Carson Palmer's torn thumb ligament, Chris Crocker's ankle and Tom Nelson's ankle.
+ For all of the rumor and "kissing of da babies", don't expect JaMarcus Russell or Terrell Owens to play for the Bengals this year. On the other hand, Joe Reedy did write that the Bengals inquired about the overprice, overrated, fat quarterback.
+ Several Bengals coaches will be tandem parachuting today. What?
+ Matt Jones beat Leon Hall twice on a seam route, recording a catch. On Monday, Carson Palmer said:
“He’s always a mismatch,” because of his height and speed, and another offensive player said, “Matt Jones is a beast."
+ Carlos Holmes (briefly) talks about Carlos Dunlap:
“My plan is to help contribute in the pass-rushing game,” Dunlap said. “That’s one of the things I heard coach say the team lacked last year. Although I feel rushing the passer is one of the things I do well, it’s certainly not my best attribute. I’m going to do whatever it takes to get on the field and help the team win games.”
