In the second quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs, Rey Maualuga's season prematurely came to an end after the rookie linebacker suffered a broken ankle, forcing him to miss the team's second playoff appearance since I was about ten years old (I'm in my 30s now). He elected not to have surgery and reportedly participated in spring workouts early on until the injured flared up and he elected to have minor surgery in early June.
Now?
Geoff Hobson writes that Maualuga should be ready when Training Camp kicks off.
...on Monday he said he’s now working with rehab trainer Nick Cosgray back at Paul Brown Stadium and is close to 100 percent.
I’m doing regular stuff,” Maualuga said. “I’m doing position drills. I’m running with Nick to make sure he sees what he wants to see. I’m ready to go. I’m done trying to hold back.”
Hobson writes that Maualuga "expects to be cleared by doctors Tuesday."
