One roster cut we didn't expect to make is was offensive lineman Isaac Sowells. According to Ravens Insider's Aaron Wilson, the Bengals waived Sowells, originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Cincinnati signed him on June 3 this year, but he was a long-shot at best to make the squad.
With the news that the Bengals are keeping backup center Reggie Stephens, we're pretty confident that Cincinnati will keep nine offensive linemen this year.
Our 53-man prediction roster has the Bengals keeping Andrew Whitworth, Anthony Collins, Andre Smith, Dennis Roland, Bobbie Williams, Nate Livings, Evan Mathis, Kyle Cook and, of course, Reggie Stephens. If they elect to go with ten, then Otis Hudson could have that spot; though we largely expect him to join the team's practice squad.
Our cut list thus far is: Dezmon Briscoe, Matt Jones, Kyries Hebert, Dave Rayner and Sowells. We're also hearing unconfirmed reports that James Johnson is a cut, but we'll wait for confirmation before going with it.
