According to John Kiesewetter of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati Bengals fans living in the area will get to watch Carson Palmer's Oakland Raiders debut against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. The game, which kicks off at 4 p.m. locally, will be available on CBS' Local 12.

CBS game allocations are made more than a week in advance. Earlier this week, Channel 12 GM Les Vann said it was unlikely CBS would change the Cincinnati broadcast.

“It’s very unusual to get games changed this late,” Vann said. “I’m very happy CBS was gracious to us, to give us the game.”

CBS has a single game this weekend with Fox having the double-header. Cincinnati, and areas to the south were expected to have an early afternoon game between the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets and a little to the north to the city, viewers were to receive a late afternoon game between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. There's no telling how wide the viewing area will be for Palmer's opening game with the Raiders, though we have to believe that the entire Cincinnati market will be watching the game.

Normally we wouldn't really care about another game, but there's a high level of interest in Palmer's new Raiders career, compounded by the fact Cincinnati has a bye week this week. I can see it now. Raiders / Chiefs: Open thread.

On Fox areas around the Cincinnati market will get Seattle at Cleveland for the Fox early game and Green Bay at Minnesota as the late afternoon "national" game.
