The Bengals have managed to avoid the injury bug for the most part in 2011 thus far (knock on wood), which is more than we can say about nearly every other year in recent memory. Friday is usually a quiet day regarding practice and injuries, but is a critical one as it is so close to game day and the announcement of player's statuses on Friday is usually the same designation that they have for Sunday.
Kevin Goheen of The Cincinnati Enquirer tweeted the projected Sunday statuses of Bengals players earlier today. Dontay Moch, who finally returned to practice this week, has been limited and still remains doubtful this week after breaking a bone in his foot during the first preseason game. It wouldn't be a surprise if we didn't see Moch return to the field until after the bye week.
Kelly Jennings has been a frustrating acquisition for the team to this point. As Josh noted earlier today, Jennings has only played 29 total snaps on defense, due to injury and his spot on the depth chart. The Bengals rarely make a trade for a player, which they did in Jennings' case, and he contributed very little to this point. He has been battling a nagging hamstring injury and he is also doubtful for Sunday's game.
Andre Smith, who we found out was limited in practice on Thursday, is not listed in Goheen's injury update. Smith being omitted from this report is encouraging and makes us believe that Bengals were just being cautious with his foot and gave him a bit of rest.
