Announcement Regarding Cedric Benson's Suspension Could Be Made Before Week Six Against The Colts

Even though Cedric Benson will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend, giving him two games played since he reportedly received a letter notifying him of a three-game suspension, the avoidance might not last much longer. On September 27, the week during Cincinnati's week four game against the Buffalo Bills, Benson appealed his decision at NFL headquarters in New York; a hearing that reportedly lasted seven hours. No decision was made nor was a time table speculated.

According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, the Bengals could be notified of the decision before their week six game against the Indianapolis Colts, writing that a decision could have come as soon as Friday.

Obviously two things will have to be announced. When Benson's suspension is in affect and how many games he will be suspended. There's some speculation that the appeals process won't eliminate Benson's suspension, but it could be reduced by one or two games.

Cincinnati's next three games after the Jaguars is at home against the Indianapolis Colts and on the road at Seattle and Tennessee.
