DeQuin Evans Suspended 4 Games for Violating NFL Performance Enhancement Substances Policy

New, comments

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, linebacker DeQuin Evans, who is currently on the Bengals Practice Squad Injured List, has been suspended by the NFL for violating the league's performance enhancing substances policy. That suspension will be served while he is on the injured list, according to Reedy on Twitter.

Evans, a University of Kentucky standout, was an undrafted free agent signed by the Bengals before the season started. He was released by the team in order to trim the roster down to the maximum 53 players allowed. After he cleared waivers, he was the first player that the Bengals signed to their practice squad.

It's unclear as to when Evans will be back with the Bengals' practice squad or which will come first, a recovery from his injury or the end of his suspension. Either way, the Bengals coaches liked Evans coming into camp and it would be nice to have him back at practice soon to help the active roster players prepare for their games each week.
