Heisman And College Football/Basketball Saturday Open Thread

The Saturday open thread. Football will be limited to the annual Army vs. Navy where both teams will meet for the 112th time at 2:30 p.m. (CBS) on the Washington Redskins' FedEx Field. Later Saturday night the longest show for a single award will start at 8 p.m. on ESPN where the Heisman trophy will be awarded. Robert Griffin III is a heavy favorite, Andrew Luck faced impossible expectations this season, Tyrann Mathieu may be the best defensive back since Charles Woodson, Trent Richardson is the best offensive player on a team playing in the National Championship game whereas Montee Ball put up better numbers against tougher opposition.

However this is the first weekend that we're forced to make our transition into college basketball Saturdays, starting with the Crosstown Shootout (12:30 p.m. on ESPN2) between the University of Cincinnati and Xavier. Later the Kansas Jayhawks will host the Ohio State Buckeyes (3:15 p.m. on ESPN).

You can talk about any of the above, or Cincinnati's weekend as Houston comes to town in what Marvin Lewis is calling the biggest game of his career.
