Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt took his time naming a starting quarterback for Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals for one reason or another. Some wondered if the Cardinals were monitoring Kevin Kolb to see if concussions symptoms cleared while others simply suggested that Whisenhunt just wasn’t offering up an answer. When asked about it earlier this week, the Cardinals head coach said, "We'll see. I don't have to make that decision right now do I?"
ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reported Thursday night that backup quarterback John Skelton will get the start. With five starts this season, Skelton has posted 1,345 yards passing this season with eight touchdowns against 10 interceptions for a passer rating of 69.8.
More importantly when Skelton passes 20 times or more in a game this season, the Arizona Cardinals have won five consecutive games.
Cincinnati's week 16 game against the Cardinals kicks off this Saturday.
