Cincinnati was forced to play a lot of nickel packages after the Bengals put together a 20-point first half, forcing Cardinals quarterback John Skelton to throw the football 44 times, but calling 53 pass plays when you include the scrambles and quarterback sacks. As a result Brandon Johnson tied a season-high 43 snaps against the Arizona Cardinals, mostly during passing situations alongside Thomas Howard in nickel formations. Rey Maualuga, who secured an early first quarter interception, only took part in 29 defensive snaps on Sunday.
