You could say that Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has his issues recently. Over the weekend, Haynesworth visited the Reston Police station to sign a "summons releasable warrant" from an "incident on February 2 in which a man said the football player hit him while he was sitting in his car."
On Monday, NBC Washington is reporting that Haynesworth is being accused of sexual assault.
Sources say a waitress claims that Albert Haynesworth sexually assaulted her over the weekend at the W Hotel in Washington.
With police investigating the claims, the "U.S. Attorney's Office is expected to review the evidence to see if any "charges may be brought against Haynesworth."
Haynesworth's agent, Chad Speck, releases a statement saying:
"There seems to be no truth to these allegations. We are currently evaluating facts and considering our own legal action against those involved.
After firing Jim Zorn as the team's head coach, Mike Shanahan was hired by the Redskins as the head coach and Executive Vice Football of Operations for a five-year contract worth $35 million. The Redskins went to a 3-4 defense, which Haynesworth didn't like, causing a very public conflict with the coaching staff. Haynesworth was suspended on December 7, 2010 for the rest of the season for "conduct detrimental to the club."
It just never amazes me the level of idiocracy that remains with some NFL players.
