Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

The Tennessee Titans are going through major changes in 2011, but the team has exceptional players at the skill positions and the right replacement for Vince Young will put this team back into contention. Out steps Vince Young and Jeff Fisher, in steps Mike Munchak and the new Music City Miracle, Cam Newton. Many believe that Cam Newton is just another Vince Young, and why would the Titans replace one problem for another? Because Cam isn’t just a football player, he is an entertainer and an icon. But most importantly, he has the heart of a true champion and so much God given talent, we’re not even sure how good this kid is going to be.

Cam has Michael Vick’s arm, Vince Young’s legs, Tim Tebow’s will, and will be as tough to bring down in the backfield as Ben Roethlisberger, assuming you can catch him. No other player in this draft has the ability to single-handedly lead his team back from 24 points down to defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide, who just happened to be playing at home where they had won 20 straight. That will never translate to the NFL you say? Alabama put 7 players in the NFL last year alone, and 5 of those were drafted in the first 3 rounds. Cam never lost a game last year in the SEC, which is practically a farm system for the NFL these days. Cam’s game will translate just fine.

Cam Newton couldn’t be stepping into a better situation. The Titans have a top 5 offensive line, along with one of the best running backs to ever step into the backfield. To bring the full package together, the Titans have a young wide receiver in Kenny Britt, who is quickly developing into one of the leagues best at his position. If Newton and Britt can keep NFL defenses honest against the pass, Chris Johnson won’t be seeing 9 men in the box like he did all of last year. Its not too hard to be an NFL quarterback when the man standing behind you is rushing for over 2,000 yards in a season. Many will question his accuracy, his ability to go through his progressions, and his character. Well, haters are going to hate and those are the same teams who will be picking at the top of this draft again next year. The Titans wont be one of them.
