With the No. 15 pick in the 2011 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...

Mark Ingram, RB , Alabama

With the top two QB's as well as the top offensive lineman off the board, the next big hole for the Dolphins heading into the season is at running back. Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown are both free agents, and the Dolphins have no plans to resign both and could even let both walk citing the fact that Ricky Williams will be 34 before the season starts and Ronnie Brown will be a "very old" 30 in December. Mark Ingram is a tough, physical, downhill runner that could provide some stability to the backfield for years to come. I don't think that Ingram comes in an immediately steps into the #1 back role, so look for the Dolphins to resign Brown to provide some change of pace to the running game. Brown, when healthy is still one of the best backs in the game, but the key is keeping him on the field. Ingram can come in contribute on first and second downs, leaving Brown to handle third down situations.

Ingram had a very good college career during his three seasons at Alabama, highlighted in winning the Heisman and National Championship as a sophomore. He has good size on a somewhat small 5' 9", 215 lb. frame. With great balance and yards after contact as well as the ability to break long runs, some are comparing him to Emmitt Smith or Michael Turner. Another strength to Ingram's game is that he tends to be patient and set up his blocks but still has the ability to make a quick cut-back and get back to the line if the play starts to break down in front of him. Ingram has very few weaknesses with Ingram's game, but one of the major knocks is his pass protection. With a spotty line in Miami this could be reason for concern, but nothing that cannot come with a little coaching. Ingram's top-end speed is not elite, but he did improve his 4.6 40 time at the Combine to a 4.55 during his Pro Day. Ingram also missed the first 2 games this past season for Alabama, but the minor knee surgery that he had performed does not seem to be cause for concern. For his college career Ingram finished with almost 3,300 yards on 572 carries and 42 TDs while averaging over 5.7 yards a carry.

With all that being said, I would not all be surprised to see the Dolphins trade this pick in order to drop somewhere in the mid-twenties range and also gain a 2nd rounder. Not having a 2nd rounder could end up hurting them in the draft considering that there are multiple holes to fill, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Dropping down to the 22-27 range still gives them a shot at a great offensive lineman in Castanzo/Solder/Carimi/Pouncey and then they can address either QB or RB with their 2nd round pick. I do not know that they are ready to give up on the Chad Henne experiment yet, so beefing up the O-Line could end up being their top priority. I have heard rumors of them looking to bring in a veteran QB, but that does not mean that Henne's time is up. I think he gets one more year to prove that he's moving in the right direction before they cut ties.
