Bengals Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer Attends Texas Pro Day

Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer was on hand during Texas University's Pro Day on Tuesday. Zimmer was one of 53 personnel of all 32 teams represented to scout players such as pass-rusher Sam Acho, defensive backs Aaron Williams, Curtis Brown and Chykie Brown. Also working out were guard Mike Huey, tight end Greg Smith and wide receiver James Kirkendoll (no relation).

According to ESPN's DraftTracker, Acho ranks as the 13th best defensive end prospect with average grades as a pass rusher and against the run. Acho marks high with intangibles.

Well-cultured and speaks Spanish as a second language. Very good student and active in several different school activities, councils and clubs. Was UT's representative at 2009 NCAA Leadership Council. Active in community service and has done multiple mission trips overseas. 2009 recipient of Arthur Ashe Award, a national award given to minority student-athletes.

Defensive backs Aaron Williams and Curtis Brown each rank inside the the top ten draft prospects at cornerback, with Williams ranked fourth and Brown ranked seventh. The Bengals could realistically draft anyone on defense in this year's NFL Draft with a need on the defensive line (especially if Michael Johnson moves to linebacker) and cornerback with expiring contracts amongst the top three cornerbacks in the next year.
