Aaron Williams, S, Texas
The Jacksonville Jaguars have the unfortunate distinction of playing in the same division as Peyton Manning and Matt Schaub, two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Manning and Schaub combined for 7 touchdowns, 1148 yards, 74% completion percentage and a 113.9 quarterback rating against the Jags in 2010. If Jacksonville wants to finally break through and win the division they will need help in the defensive secondary.
Aaron Williams projects as a safety in the NFL, but is certainly athletically gifted enough to play cornerback. At either position Williams will be a major upgrade for the Jaguars in the defensive secondary. His physical prowess, tremendous size and his ability to make plays have NFL scouts comparing him to Devin McCourty. This is a tremendous comparison considering McCourty made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. In addition, Williams is considered a top tier tackler and stout against the run. Williams also has incredible speed running a blistering 4.36 40 yard dash at his pro day causing him to climb up draft boards. Aaron Williams is a versatile defensive back who should be able to contribute in the Jacksonville secondary immediately.
