Jabaal Sheard, DE, Pittsburgh

Jaws and I just got done with our second rack of ribs before we began watching tape on this guy. Our first thought was WOW!, this guy is explosive. Now, I know what you are saying, he was a men among boys in the big east and has quite the checkered past. But when you look deeper you see that this guy Is for real. As a highly recruited freshman out of Florida, he played nine games for the Panthers. He played every game as a sophomore recording 45 tackles and 5.5 sacks and a similar year in 2009. In 2010, he had 52 tackles and nine sacks. I forget his stats against UC, but he definitely destroyed our boy Collaros a few times. I read he had two sacks and two forced fumbles against L' allville though. Many of his tackles were behind the line of scrimmage and quite simply, he caused chaos throughout the big east.

I believe the Chargers need to focus on their lines. Both o and d need to improve. Pouncey in round 1 will open their run game to make their offense less pass happy and control clock. Sheard is listed as DE but is a little small and can be a potential OLB. Regardless, he will get in the backfield and cause hurried plays. San Diego was terrible last year in turnover differential. With the first two picks in this years draft they improved their run blocking to kill clock and improved the pass rush. This will definitely help create more turnovers.

Jaws concurs and we feel like we got a steal here in the second round.
