Here's another. Earlier on Thursday, Mel Kiper Jr. released his final mock draft of the season, selecting Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green when the Cincinnati Bengals select fourth overall during Thursday night's first round. Kiper has generally picked several players for the Bengals from Green, to Auburn quarterback Cam Newton to Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers.
The previous five mock drafts from Todd McShay goes: A.J. Green (January 19), A.J. Green (February 10), A.J. Green (March 16), A.J. Green (April 6). In his final mock draft of the season, Todd McShay selects:
We hear the Bengals are not sold on QB Blaine Gabbert at this point and Green is an elite talent who could fill the void left by the likely departures of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.
McShay is the second person from ESPN today to confirm that the Bengals are not sold, or not in love with, quarterback Blaine Gabbert. It's long been believed that if the Bengals don't select a quarterback in the first round -- which seems unlikely now -- then they'll go with a wide receiver or a defensive player; just depends on who they are "in love" with the most.
