The shotgun start for The Eighth Annual Marvin Lewis Golf Classic will kickoff at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 22. According to Marvin Lewis' website, the Golf Classic includes 14 holes of golf, a celebrity on each team, contest prizes, finest area restaurants serving the best food called the "Taste of the Jungle" and a post golf party and auction.

The event is the largest fundraiser for the "Marvin Lewis Community Fund" with proceeds going "directly to our outgoing outreach programs primarily focused on education."

And according Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, players are allowed to participated in the tournament with several of the Bengals coaches during an NFL lockout that strictly prohibits any football-related communication with players.

As of Thursday, there were commitments from five — cornerbacks Leon Hall and Morgan Trent, kicker Mike Nugent, punter Kevin Huber and long snapper Clark Harris.

There's probably a better chance of Carson Palmer doing a Christopher Walken impression while standing naked at a Renaissance Festival than showing up for Lewis' event. Not that we're dishonest people, but what's to prevent one of the team's assistant coaches from slipping something to a player that can, you know, rely it to other players?
