Now that we have our first twenty numbers of the best Bengals players in the books, we can move on with numbers 21-30.
In the minds of Bengals fans, there's only one player that wore number 30. His name will be remembered; his play on the field long praised as is his performances after touchdowns. Ickey Woods played four seasons with the Bengals, but it only took one for him to be remembered. During his rookie season, Woods scored 15 touchdowns, averaged 5.3 yards/rush while leading the team in rushing that season. Injury all but ended Woods' career after the second game of his sophomore season, playing only 19 games during his final two seasons to complete a short four-year career.
Dick Jauron (yes, that Dick Jauron) played three seasons with the Bengals from 1978 through 1980, posting 11 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Jess Phillips played five seasons with the Bengals, scoring eight touchdowns as the teams fullback, posting 1,860 yards and a 4.4 yard/rush average from 1968 through 1972.
Other players to wear number 30 includes Willie Shelby, Bill Johnson, Chris Shelling, Terrell Roberts and Nick Luchey.
