One Sunday morning, it all changed. Bengals cornerback Adam Jones went from a man journeying on some imagine rebuilding project, only to be sucked right back into the issues that laid the smackdown earlier in his career. Signed by the Bengals last year to a two-year contract, Jones' reminder of his past popped up last year after a heart-breaking loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in which a case of mistaken identity had him temporarily in handcuffs.
Besides that, Jones has worked out with the team during the offseason when hasn't been forced to, rehabilitating from a neck injury that he ended his season against the Atlanta Falcons.
Until Sunday morning, where good times at a local Cincinnati bar celebrating his wife's birthday (supposedly) ended with an arrest and charges of disorderly conduct resisting arrest. Now exists the possibility of league discipline, possibly incurring a four-game suspension to start the season putting the Bengals in a bind if they're unable to re-sign Johnathan Joseph when the new league year begins.
In the meantime, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Jones' next court hearing is July 18.
