Bengals Sign Undrafted Free Agent Tight End and Linebacker

While there will undoubtedly be more undrafted free agent signings soon to roll in, here are the latest three: South Dakota State tight end Colin Cochart and Southern Illinois linebacker Stephen Franklin.

Cochart, standing at 6-4 and weighing in at 255 pounds, was an honorable All-Missouri Conference selection in 2010 and was the team's leading returner. In 2009, he led the team in touchdown receptions with five. He won't compete with Jermaine Gresham or even Chase Coffman for playing time, obviously, but he could work his way onto the practice squad or possibly prove his worth on special teams.

Franklin will be joining former Southern Illinois defensive back Korey Lindsey in Georgetown on Saturday.  At 6-0 and 235-pounds, the linebacker led Southern Illinois in tackles in 2010 with 76. He also added two sacks and an interception.

When asked about signing with the Bengals, he said:

"Other teams had the opportunity to talk to me if they were interested. It didn't happen that way, but Cincinnati decided to give me a shot, and I'm really thankful for them to give me a shot and show what I can do"
