Hobson: Bengals Agree to Deals With Draft Picks Sands and Lindsey

According to a recent Tweet from Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson, the Bengals and fifth-round draft pick from West Virginia, safety Robert Sands, and seventh-round draft pick from Southern Illinois, defensive back Korey Lindsey, have agreed to rookie deals along with A.J. Green.

Sounds like fifth-rounder Sands and seventh-rounder Lindsey have deals along with Greenless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

The team has apparently signed three of their eight draft picks within the first couple days of the end of the lockout (I'm loving this new CBA already) which is good because training camp will be extremely important for the rookie class, who was, without a doubt, affected negatively more than most during the NFL's work stoppage.

Sands could possibly compete at some point during the season for a fairly large role on the defense as the team has yet to sign a free agent safety, leaving Chris Crocker and Reggie Nelson as the only active safeties on the roster with Tom Nelson as an exclusive rights free agent.

If the team brings back Johnathan Joseph, Lindsey likely won't get a lot of playing time behind Joseph and Leon Hall, but he could contribute on special teams or in certain defensive formations.

Either way, it's just good to see that the Bengals are getting their draft picks signed before camp starts.
