Second round pick and future starting quarterback Andy Dalton signed a four-year contract worth $5.2 million on Friday. Cincinnati also signed restricted free agent Jordan Palmer to a quarterback roster that featured Bruce Gradkowski, who signed earlier this week. Due to the NFL league year officially starting on August 4, free agents that signed contracts this week will not be allowed to practice until the start of the league year.
This essentially allows the Bengals to have only two quarterbacks practicing until this Thursday. According to Geoff Hobson, Dalton will receive a majority of the snaps during today's practice, the first of the 2011 Training Camp. Backup quarterback, and fan favorite, Dan LeFevour will get the rest.
Dalton to get 65 to 70 percent of snaps in today's practice. LeFevour gets the rest.
