Bengals Early Bird Special

Good morning and happy fourth of July to everyone! I hope you all had a splendid weekend that contained good food, fireworks, and beer. If not, then sucks to be you. Maybe today will be your day for some food and fireworks.

Before I get started I would like to wish my grandma a happy birthday. She is now 82 years young! Thanks for everything that you have done grandma!

Alright so it's banter time. So I hate stupid people. This weekend at my other job I worked a wedding where sparklers were the party favor for all of the guests. Let me just say, that that is a catastrophic idea. I mean when you have 200 potentially intoxicated people packed into one room, it can be a recipe for disaster. Thankfully it wasn't. But there were a few instances where I wasn't too sure I would have a building to work in.

Countless times every staff member reminded the guests to not light their sparklers indoor. But did they listen? Nope. I had to tell at least ten people to put out their sparklers. Their response was, "How am I suppose to put it out?" My response, "Put it in your glass of ice." I had to watch them and basically force them to extinguish their sparkler.

Seriously people, do we as a society lack the common sense it takes to understand that it is extremely dangerous to light sparklers or anything that is flammable indoor? I think we do. Unfortunately.....

Alright here's what you may have missed or overlooked from the weekend.

  • Former Bengals center Dave Rimington decided to blast his former NFL team. Well here's all I have to say, get over it. Cry me a river. Your playing days have been long over and you're just now voicing your opinion on the organization that drafted you nearly 20 years ago? A little late, eh?
  • Former Bengals running back Archie Griffin was named the most accomplished college player to have a mediocre career in the NFL by ESPN. That's an unfortunate list to be ranked number one on.
  • Brian Leonard is hoping for a new deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. I hope the Bengals resign him. There aren't many third down backs like him in the league.
  • A scouting report was provided for Bengals linebacker Brandon Johnson.
  • According to a recent poll by the Cincinnati Enquirer, Mike Brown is the most disliked sports figure in Cincinnati. Who would have guessed that one? Not me of course.... (note that final statement is sarcasm).
  • A scouting report was provided for Bengals running back Cedric Benson.
  • We are conducting a poll to determine the best Bengals player of all-time to wear the number 67 and 63. Cast your votes everyone!!
  • We revealed the best Bengals of all-time to wear the No. 51- No. 60.
  • Former Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzedah made a "bold" prediction when he stated that he believes Chad Ochocinco will remain in Cincinnati, while Carson Palmer is as good as gone. Well thank you T.J., none of us would have ever made those predictions ever.
  • It was revealed as to whom the top Bengals players are who have something to prove next season with No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 being revealed. I hope both of those players can prove their value to the Bengals next season, otherwise they are probably as good as gone.
  • Friends are making a push to get former Bengals  defensive lineman Coy Bacon into the Hall of Fame. Good luck to Bacon on his Hall of Fame push.
  • The Bengals victory over the San Diego Chargers was a promise of something more. Hopefully that promise will carry over into next season.
  • Dhani Jones believes that Jordan Palmer isn't the answer at quarterback. Wow. Really? Did he honestly say that? Talk about being stabbed in the back and a zero vote of confidence. I mean we know Jordan isn't going to be Dan Marino or anything, but I thought teammates were suppose to support each other.
  • ESPN's John Clayton believes that Johnathan Joseph could be signed for around $8 million a year. Well I hope the Bengals open up the wallet and resign Joseph.
