Bengals Trying To Re-Sign Defensive Lineman Jonathan Fanene

With Brandon Johnson signed, sealed and delivered, the Bengals can turn towards their next prized free agent.

This isn't surprising, or really new, to be honest. Geoff Hobson and Joe Reedy have written previously that the Bengals view Fanene as one of their top free agent priorities. Fanene, a seventh-round pick during the 2005 NFL Draft, has 55 career games and 15 starts under his belt.

Unfortunately injury has been as much apart of Fanene's career as anything. He was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List in 2006, missing the first six games with a hamstring injury. A knee injury forced him to miss another game in 2007. Between 2008 and 2009, Fanene remained relatively healthy, playing all 32 regular season games. Then he suffered a hamstring injury in 2010, able to only play two games before heading to Injured Reserve on November 18.
