Bengals Release Safety Lainhart and Guard Wetterer

If you happened to watch Hard Knocks a couple years ago back when the Bengals were the subject of the documentary, then you probably watched how the Bengals released people from the team. Director of football operations Jim Lippencott would knock on a players door at the crack of dawn and tell him to pack his bags. To some Bengals fans, it seemed kind of harsh, but that's football, right?

Well that happened to two players today. College free agent safety Brian Lainhart from Kent State and guard Mark Wetterer from Louisville were officially released from the team.

Both Wetterer and Lainhart were from the Cincinnati area, Lainhart played at Colerain and Wetterer at Anderson.

Wetterer's release leaves the Bengals with Clint Boling, Otis Hudson, Max Jean-Gilles, Nate Livings, Chris Riley and Bobbie Williams at guard.

Lainhart's release leaves Chris Crocker, Jeromy Miles, Reggie Nelson, Tom Nelson, Robert Sands and Gibril Wilson at safety.
