We continue to keep an eye on Mike Zimmer and any news that could give us an early warning that he is going to be leaving the Bengals to take the head coach job at either Indianapolis or Tampa Bay. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Buccaneers, who scheduled a second interview with Zimmer, are interviewing former Packers head coach Mike Sherman today for the second time.
Former Packers head coach Mike Sherman is interviewing today for a second time with the Buccaneers owners.
We wrote yesterday that Sherman is rumored to be the favorite for the Buccaneers head coach, which isn't necessarily surprising. With the offensive struggles of the Buccaneers, particularly the struggles that quarterback Josh Freeman had in 2010, Tampa Bay may be looking for an offensive minded coach to take over in 2011. Since the Colts are expected to draft rookie quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick, the same could go for them. Either way, a decision could come any time now.
Continue to stay tuned for more updates on Zimmer and the coaching carousel that is the NFL.
