Bengals Bring Defensive Back Rico Murray To The Practice Squad

The Cincinnati Bengals signed former defensive back Rico Murray to the team's practice squad, replacing Devon Torrence who was released earlier this week. Murray initially signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2009 NFL Draft, waived on September 5 and signed to Cincinnati's practice squad on September 23, 2009. The Bengals promoted him to the 53-man roster on December 12, playing the final four games of the year including the 2009 Wild Card game against the New York Jets.

Murray returned to Cincinnati's practice squad to start the 2010 season, but quickly made the 53-man roster when defensive backs were falling with injuries. However he was waived on November 8, returned to the practice squad the next day and then promoted back to the 53-man roster on November 13. Eventually he was placed on Injured Reserve with an injured ankle in early December.

Murray made the 53-man roster in 2011, played against the Cleveland Brown during the regular season opener and then released soon after.
