Albert Breer: Bengals OC Jay Gruden Favorite Candidate To Be Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach in 2012

Less than a year after the Cincinnati Bengals fired offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski and hired Jay Gruden out of the UFL, there are already head coaching rumors revolving around him. According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, Gruden is the favorite to become the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I also have heard continually that Jay Gruden is the favorite to land the Jaguars job. Obviously, he's a little busy right now. 21 minutes ago via Echofon · powered by @socialditto

Gruden has done a great job with an offense that is starting a rookie quarterback and has a rookie No. 1 receiver and he's partially responsible for the fact that the Bengals are playing in a playoff game on Saturday. I personally think that hiring Gruden after just one season as a coordinator in the NFL is a little hasty, but crazier things have happened.

Obviously this is just a rumor and there is no reason to be worried about the Bengals losing their new offensive coordinator just yet, but this is something that we will be keeping our eye on. There will be no shortage of open head coach positions once the season is over and there is a decent chance that one of the new head coaches could come out of the Bengals staff.

We'll just have to wait and see.
