Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict posted 30 tackles while recovering one fumble and deflected a pass during the month of October. Saying that the rookie linebacker had an impressive month is like saying The Walking Dead is a decent enough show. [Note: if you don't like Walking Dead, then replace with one of your favorite shows and you'll get the hypothetical]
Burfict's month was so good, that he was one of seven nominations for NFL Defensive Player of the Month Award.
Unfortunately a nomination doesn't equate to an actual award, given to Green Bay Packers cornerback Casey Hayward, who generated four interceptions in the span of three games. But it continues to show how well Burfict is playing during his rookie year after being signed as an undrafted free agent.
