Bengals Sign Cincinnati Native J.K. Schaffer To The Practice Squad

The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they've filled the open practice squad spot that was vacated when Emmanuel Lamur was promoted last week.

After placing Dontay Moch on season-ending Injured Reserve with his latest bout of migraines, the Cincinnati Bengals called up linebacker Emmanuel Lamur from the practice squad -- he had a rather productive afternoon against the Denver Broncos.

This left an open spot on the practice squad.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Monday that they've signed rookie linebacker J.K. Schaffer, a former linebacker with the University of Cincinnati, high school player at La Salle and Cincinnati native.

Schaffer signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 4, generating a team-leading 18 tackles during the preseason with an interception and pass defensed. After being released during final cuts, Schaffer spent time on Tampa Bay's practice squad.
