Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is most definitely a confident young man. Athleticism and hard work have assisted in that, as has his early success in the NFL. Since 2011 he has the second-most receiving touchdowns (15) and currently tied for the league-lead with eight touchdowns. Additionally he ranks inside the top-ten in receptions (51) and yards receiving (735) this season.
And that confidence continues on Thursday for what could be a motivating quote for the New York Giants defense. During an interview on WFAN with Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, Green reflected on the Giants defense, saying:
"I feel like they've got a lot of holes in their defense."
Keep in mind that Green's idea of "hole" is when only three guys are covering him; an obvious indication that an opposing defense isn't really taking him seriously.
Green did temper the bulletin board material somewhat highlighting New York's front four.
"Their front four, they get so much pressure on the quarterback,” he said. “A lot of people don’t have that much time to get the big plays on them."
