Bengals Players Power Rankings: Week Ten

The Cincinnati Bengals Player Power Rankings is a weekly ranking system that not only figures the best players on the team, but the players playing the best. Despite being out of their control, injuries and inactives are huge hits largely because they're not contributing. This week, one player saw his stock drop after basically being benched and we see a first round pick getting close to the elite category.

Notes

1

A.J. Green

1

--

Green had his way with the most decorated CB of this generation. Bailey may be getting old, but he's still a tough challenge for most NFL WRs.

2

Geno Atkins

2

--

Atkins has been great against the run and last week was no different. I'm continually amazed with his leverage.

3

Andre Smith

4

--

This was Andre's worst game of his best season. It looked worse on live TV and better upon review. Von Miller is the poster boy for how you beat Andre Smith.

4

Leon Hall

3

--

Hall got burned bad on one play for the first time all year but was pretty good the rest of the game.

5

Andrew Whitworth

6

--

Some key penalties and mistakes in one drive made Whit's performance look horrible on the surface. He wasn't that bad at all.

6

Andy Dalton

5

--

This game gave us that glimmer of hope that there's something salvageable with Dalton. I just need him to stay in the pocket a little longer.

7

Kevin Zeitler

9

+2

At this rate, Zeitler will be the Bengals best lineman by the year's end. That's an incredible compliment considering the offensive tackles on this team.

8

Michael Johnson

7

-1

Johnson was invisible for most of the game. The entire defensive line was held at bay when they were desperately needed.

9

Reggie Nelson

8

-1

Nelson wasn't having a great game, but when he left in the 4th quarter, did you see Manning picking apart the defense and going over the middle without caution? I did.

10

Jermaine Gresham

14

+4

Gresham looked like the player Cincinnati needs on a more consistent basis. He's still stiff and not the freak we expected, but man, he isn't easy to tackle.

11

Vontaze Burfict

10

-1

Burfict is starting to get abused in coverage. The scouting reports warned us of this. Let's see if he can get better as his experience and awareness increases.

12

Andrew Hawkins

12

+1

Hawkins had a few key moments last week that reminded us about his first few weeks. Get the ball in his hands. What happened to the bubble-screens?

13

Mike Nugent

12

-1

He kicks the ball. Missed one last week.

14

Clint Boling

15

+1

I have little issue with Boling's play. He made some questionable plays last weeks, but they reminded me of Living's type moves; which I attribute to scheme/coaching. That's just how they use the LG.

15

Carlos Dunlap

15

+1

When Dunlap isn't affecting the game, the entire defense suffers. OTs are sitting on his bull-rush and he doesn't have the ability to bend and accelerate around the corner; moves need to be developed.

16

BenJarvus Green-Ellis

18

+2

Being able to get exactly what the offensive line blocks for you is the best and worst trait a starting NFL running back can have.

17

Domata Peko

19

+2

Peko had one of his better days against the run this year. He got worn down towards the end.

18

Terence Newman

20

+2

Not a perfect coverage game, but without Newman's interceptions, the Bengals get blown out.

19

Pacman Jones

11

-8

Pacman's benching was the biggest mystery to me. How did the staff think Clements would be a better option?

20

Nate Clements

17

-3

He got absolutely torched in the slot. When an aging player starts showing slow/heavy feet, that career cliff is within distance.
