Bengals Block Eagles Punt Resulting In A Field Goal; Bengals Lead 10-0

The Eagles were unable to make anything happen offensively after BenJarvus Green-Ellis gave the Bengals a 7-0 lead. After going three and out, the Eagles were set to punt the ball away to the Bengals.

If only it were that easy for the Eagles.

Daniel "Boom" Herron pushed Marvin McNutt into Eagles punter Mat McBriar which blocked McBriar’s punt and the ball was recovered by Cincinnati. The Bengals were finding themselves with the ball yet again in fantastic field position.

The Bengals began their second drive at the Eagles 11-yard line. A hand off to Green-Ellis for a short gain was followed by a sack on Andy Dalton who attempted to scramble out of the pocket. Dalton was able to complete a pass to Jermaine Gresham for six yards, but the Bengals ultimately were forced to kick a 24 yard field goal, resulting in a 10-0 Bengals lead with 7:51 left in the first quarter.
