ROSTER MOVES: Bengals Place FB Chris Pressley On IR And Sign Cincinnati Native John Conner

The Cincinnati Bengals lost Chris Pressley Thursday Night after the fullback suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Saturday that the team has placed Chris Pressley on season-ending Injured Reserve after suffering a first quarter knee injury Thursday Night against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bengals replaced Pressley by signing Greater Cincinnati native John Conner, who played at Lakota West High School.

Conner was selected in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft by the New York Jets, playing 35 games with ten starts before he was waived on October 18. Conner has 88 yards rushing on 21 carries, two touchdowns and 18 yards receiving on four receptions.

Geoff Hobson with Bengals.com tweets that it may be a two-year contract, suggesting an idea that either Pressley's injury is pretty significant or that if Conner plays well, the Bengals have him for another year to compete with Pressley.

Pressley had an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of his injury, while the team (unconfirmed) held workouts this weekend to replace him with Conner and possibly former Bengals practice squad player Jourdan Brooks.
