Want to win some easy money for your holiday party? Put some cash on the table and ask someone who has the most drops in the AFC North so far this season. The answer: A.J. Green. Easy money. Right? You certainly would've hustled me out of some hard-earned cash, as I never would've guessed it would be the AFC North's best receiver.
According to ESPN's Stats and Information service, Green has dropped the most passes this season with seven drops on 138 targets, following up a rookie campaign with only three drops on 112 targets.
But is this the whole story? Partially. If I were blindly answering who had the most drops in the AFC North, I'd probably answer Mike Wallace. My second guess would be Browns wide receiver Greg Little. However, Mike Wallace isn't too far behind Green with six dropped passes on 114 targets. Tied with Mike Wallace is Greg Little and Jermaine Gresham. While Mike Wallace and A.J. Green are nearly identical on their percentage of dropped passes in relation to their targets, Green still has the edge on reception percentage with 59 percent over Wallace's 55 percent.
The Browns, as a team, lead the AFC North with 26 dropped passes. The Bengals and Steelers are tied at 22 drops, and the Baltimore Ravens have the least amount of drops with 19.
Another fact that you should already know: A.J. Green is pretty amazing no matter what ESPN digs up on his dropped passes.
