Earlier this week the NFL had announced the results of the fan vote for the 2013 Pro Bowl, tallied at each position, as well as a top-ten list of players that received the most fan votes. Unfortunately the NFL isn't that forthcoming on additional information, such as rankings at each position outside the top selection.
According to Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer:
The only other player to get in the top five in his respective position was Geno Atkins, who finished second to Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata at defensive tackle by 15,047 votes. Atkins got 347,939 votes.
However just because one wins the vote, doesn't mean he'll make it into the Pro Bowl. During Cincinnati's four-win season in 2010, Andrew Whitworth won the fan vote at offensive tackle but wasn't given a spot on the All-Star roster because fans only constitute one-third of the total count. Coaches and players make up the remaining two-thirds.
That being said we have no doubt that Atkins will make the Pro Bowl this year. As for anyone else is anyone's guess. Last year Atkins, Andy Dalton and Jermaine Gresham joined A.J. Green at the 2012 Pro Bowl as alternates.
The announcement of the 2013 Pro Bowl teams, including starters, will be made on Wednesday, December 26, in prime time (7:00 p.m. ET) on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access Pro Bowl Selection Show.” The 2013 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, January 27, 2013 and televised live on NBC at 7:00 pm (ET) from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
