Kansas City Chiefs Fire Head Coach Romeo Crennel

The Kansas City Chiefs, after finishing the season 2-14 and with the first pick of the 2013 NFL draft, are planning to fire head coach Romeo Crennel, NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported Monday Morning. Per Arrowhead Pride with a summarized version of events:

Pioli hired Todd Haley in 2009 and Haley wanted to hire Crennel, who was out of coaching that season. Crennel ended up coming to the Chiefs in the 2010 season where he was the defensive coordinator for two seasons, putting up two top 12 units.

Haley was fired in December 2011 and Crennel stepped in, carrying the Chiefs to a 2-1 record down the stretch and beating the previously unbeaten Packers at Arrowhead Stadium.

Joel Thorman made an argument for Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, who became the interim head coach during Chuck Pagano's leukemia treatments and helped led the Colts to a surprising 11-5 record and postseason berth.

UPDATE: It's official after the Chiefs officially announced Crennel's firing.
