Former Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, who posted a reception during New England's Super Bowl loss Sunday night, returned to the Tri-State area to appear in a Hamilton County courtroom on Monday. Police pulled over his 2004 Mercury on Fulton Avenue in Walnut Hills on July 21, originally cited for driving with a suspended license and a "window tint violation".
He pleaded guilty Monday to the reduced charge and received two fines totaling $304 from Municipal Court Judge Russell Mock. However, the judge hastened to add, "I guess I would have to issue a larger fine if you would have won last night."
Oh those wacky and zany judges.
Of the fines he's required to make, $200 must be paid by March 26.
After being traded from Cincinnati to the New England Patriots, Chad posted a career-low 15 receptions for 276 yards receiving and a touchdown in 2011. During the Sunday night's Super Bowl, Chad posted only one reception but took part in 22 offensive snaps.
Cincinnati received a fifth round draft pick for the 2012 NFL Draft and a sixth-rounder in 2013 during the Ochocinco trade.
