We thought that we would throw you all a late-night update on the happenings from "Free Agency Eve". Who knows, this may become something we will do throughout the week? Anyway, some news has begun to leak regarding some players around the league. We'll provide you the news and the links and we'll try to update this post if more news breaks through the night. Click the jump to see what's going on.
The biggest news so far is that free agent wide receiver Randy Moss has signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
May Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that running back Peyton Hillis is set to hit the open market tomorrow.
For those of you who wanted to see Marques Colston possibly land in Cincinnati, be prepared to be disappointed. Apparently he and the Saints are working hard to strike a last-minute deal before tomorrow afternoon.
Speaking of disappointment, our friend Geoff Hobson at www.Bengals.com writes that the Bengals are following the ways of the Patriots and Steelers and will really only be active in free agency with their own free agents, not so much on outside players.
The Houston Texans have released backup quarterback Matt Leinart, adding to the disappointment that his NFL career has become. The team also surprisingly released their Pro Bowl tackle, Eric Winston. It's believed that these moves were made so the team can make a play for Peyton Manning.
The highly-coveted guard from New Orleans, Carl Nicks, has been made an offer from the Saints that he called "respectable" via Twitter. He's mulling the offer over.
