Bengals cornerback Adam Jones did an admirable job starting the final seven games last season as Leon Hall's replacement, who went down with a season-ending Achilles injury. Yes. He did allow two touchdowns, including one in the playoffs, and yes his opposing quarterback rating was well over 90 points. However Jones only allowed four receptions of 20 yards or more and a 50 percent completion against targets he covered. Pro Bowl caliber? No. Worth bringing back to keep the team's cornerback position stabilized, especially with Hall still rehabilitating an Achilles injury? Yea, why not?
According to Jason La Canfora with the NFL Network, Bengals cornerback Adam Jones is nearing a new deal.
People like to hate on Adam Jones because of his past, but he's been out of trouble for a while now and he's nearing a new contract
Here's the obvious.
We're not exactly sure if La Canfora is referring to the Cincinnati Bengals. However, it would be a reasonable conclusion. Along with the fact La Canfora didn't name a team, we haven't seen any reports of outside interest from the league's other 31 teams with Jones.
