The Bengals announced on Friday afternoon, via Geoff Hobson's Twitter account, that they have officially signed free agent defensive end Derrick Harvey, along with the re-signings of Anthony Collins and Adam Jones.

Harvey, who will be entering his fifth season in the league, was a first-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2008, but he was waived before the 2011 and was signed by the Denver Broncos. In his first three seasons, he recorded eight sacks. He only played in five games for the Broncos, making four tackles and no sacks.

Harvey hasn't quite lived up to his draft position so far in his career and he was likely signed to fill the void on the Bengals defensive line that Frostee Rucker and Jonathan Fanene left when they signed elsewhere. The Bengals will still likely address the defensive end and tackle position in the draft as well.

This is the fourth free agent from another team that the Bengals have signed.
