According to the Bengals official Twitter account, the team has officially announced the re-signing of restricted free agent inside linebacker Dan Skuta.
#Bengals announce the signing of restricted free agent LB Dan Skuta.
Skuta, signed by the Bengals before the 2009 season as an undrafted free agent, has been mostly used in a backup role, first to Dhani Jones and then to Rey Maualuga, at middle linebacker and on special teams. In 2011, he started three games in the middle of the season while Maualuga recovered from an ankle injury and he may start early in 2012 if Maualuga is suspended by Roger Goodell for the misdemeanor assault charge this offseason.
Skuta played well when he was in the game, both on defense and on special teams and his return to the team will be welcomed by most fans.
