The young Bengals burst onto the scene at this year's Pro Bowl, bringing 4 players all under the age of 25. This youth movement is a big part of why Bengals fans are so excited for the future of the Bengals organization, and the 2012 season in particular.
In a recent article by NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah, the top ten NFL players under the age of 25 were listed, with an additional 10 listed under "just missed the cut".
A.J. Green was the only wide receiver to make the top ten list, while the Giants' Hakeem Nicks, the Falcons' Julio Jones, and the Cowboys' Dez Bryant all fell in the "just missed the cut" category.
A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals (Age: 23)
The NFL is loaded with young studs at wide receiver. There were several worthy candidates for this list but Green is the best of the bunch. He has ideal size, short-area quickness, deep speed and ball skills. He also has the toughness to work in the middle of the field. He finished his rookie campaign with 65 catches for 1,057 yards and seven TDs. I'd look for all of those numbers to rise significantly in his second season.
The other Bengals to make the list were defensive tackle Geno Atkins (24) and quarterback Andy Dalton (24).
