With the draft over and many of us anxiously awaiting the start of OTA's, there isn't much football on TV this weekend, sans the 24 hour commentary on NFL Network, but there are plenty of other sports to keep you busy on this b-e-a-utiful Saturday morning!
IndyCar Racing: Indianapolis 500 Time Trials (11am EST on NBC Sports)
Qualification for next weekends Indy 500 begin today where drivers will look to get a spot in the field by claiming the fastest times in four laps.
College Baseball: LSU at South Carolina (1pm EST on ESPNU)
If you are not a big MLB fan like me, but still enjoy the thrill of watching good baseball, be sure to check out this match-up between two SEC rivals. LSU is currently ranked no. 7 in the NCAA and South Carolina is directly behind them at no. 8, so look for this game to be a barnburner.
Playoff Hockey: Rangers at Devils (1pm EST on NBC)
There are few things more enjoyable in this world than playoff hockey, and this Rangers/Devils game surely will not dissappoint. This is game three in the Eastern Conference finals and the series is tied at 1 game a piece. The Devils are coming off of a big 3-2 win and look to take the series lead with a win on their home ice.
MLB Baseball: Reds at Yankees (1:05pm EST on FS Ohio)
Our Cincinnati Reds travel to New York to take on the storied franchise in a rare series between the two teams. The Yankees took the series lead with a 4-0 win over the Reds last night, but the Reds are looking to bounce back this afternoon behind the arm of Homer Bailey (1-3, 4.35 ERA) and the bat of Joey Votto.
NBA Playoffs: Spurs at Clippers (3:30 PM EST on ABC)
The Clippers are coming off a thrashing at the hands of the Spurs in game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals, and they are looking to bounce back with a win at home this afternoon. If anything, you can watch this game with the expectation that Blake Griffin could throw down on Tim Duncan. That's worth it to me.
IndyCar Racing: Indianapolis 500 Time Trials "The Fast Nine" (4:30 PM EST on NBC Sports)
The second round of time-trials for today include the nine fastest drivers from this mornings time trials competing for the pole position for next weekend's Indianapolis 500. Be sure to watch the second round of trials then the Pole Award Presentation directly after at 6pm.
NASCAR: Sprint All-Star Race (7 PM EST on SPEED)
In the other racing series, tonight you can watch all the race winners from 2011 and 2012 race tonight for the $1 million first prize in this 90-lap main event.
Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier (10 PM EST on Showtime)
If you have Showtime, I would highly recommend watching this fight card. The main event is the heavyweight grand prix finale between decorated veteran Josh Barnett and newcomer and All-American wrestler Daniel Cormier. This is a showdown between two all-star wrestlers, as well as two incredibly talented MMA fighters. The co-main event is a battle for the lightweight championship between the champion Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thompson. These two have fought before in a five-round war and you can expect this fight to be much of the same.
NBA Playoffs: Thunder at Lakers (10:30 PM EST on TNT)
The Thunder have a 2-1 series lead over the Lakers after defeating them in a nail-biter late last night. Kevin Durant will try to lead Oklahoma City to a 3-1 lead and out-gun Kobe and the Lakers in this Western Conference semifinal game.
