Following Tuesday's minicamp practice, Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer wrote small blurb that running back Brian Leonard "left the field midway through due to what looked to be a leg injury", however he "walked off under his own power." Geoff Hobson with Bengals.com updates that Leonard "surfaced in a knee brace Wednesday" but that he'll "be ready for the July 27 start of training camp."
Leonard is expected to be the team's third-down running back and there doesn't seem like much competition for his spot on the surface. Benjarvus Green-Ellis and Bernard Scott are virtual locks, while Leonard appears as safe as anyone. The closest battle between backs for the 53-man roster appears to be the fourth spot between Cedric Peerman and Dan Herron, who was in a boot during OTA with limited practices. However that battle will be more about special teams than offense.
Rodney Stewart, Aaron Brown and Jourdan Brooks (also a fullback) aren't expected to change anyone's mind, unless they have an extraordinary couple of months.
