While Bengals cornerback Adam Jones returned to practice yesterday, it appears as though he didn’t participate on the field today, as Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports via Twitter. While the reason behind Jones’ absence hasn’t been reported yet, it’s fair to speculate it relates to a minor calf injury he’s battled with over the past few days. Geoff Hobson also points out that running back Aaron Brown is not practicing today. Brown, formerly of the Detroit Lions, was acquired in free agency by the Bengals – presumably as a depth signing.
Another quick note on training camp comes from Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. He reports that 800 fans (at least we’d assume they were fans, right?) attended camp today.
Today’s attendance was the lowest of this offseason so far and well below the average attendance as of yesterday; 1,425. Much of the drop in attendance could be attributed to the fact that day one of camp kicked off on a Friday afternoon, followed by weekend crowds, and yesterday’s practice took place hours before the Cincinnati Reds were seeking their 11th consecutive win in downtown Cincinnati (which unfortunately did not happen). Either way, after a day off tomorrow, the Bengals will be practicing in Paul Brown Stadium for the first time ever this Thursday at 6 PM. As a reminder: There will be no ticket-system for Thursday’s practice and it would be a not-so-bold prediction to assume plenty of seats will be available.
