I get that they play the same position.
I get that they both had a similar YPC last year.
I get that they both have or have had dreads.
but really.......
Cedric has been booted from two teams for not being able to play nice with others. Cedric has been arrested on multiple accounts for disorderly conduct, DUI, resisting arrest, Bar fights, and If I dug deeper I'm sure I'd find more stuff. I never read of his community service, or his out-reach to the community.
BJEG has been touted as a true team player, someone that the Pat's organization was sad to see go. Their entire fan-base was pleading for him back, but he was looking to start a fresh where he knew he would get more carries. I have never once seen a police report or arrest of BJEG. I looked into his community service and he is very involved in many community service projects.
Now down to stats.... Look at one in particular....
Benson Fumbles ----- 19 fumbles in his 7 year career...
5 fumbles -2011 2 lost
7 fumbles - 2010 5 lost
BJEG Fumbles ------ 0 in his 4 years in the league.
Now lets break this down some more will we......
Benson TD's ---- 36 Td's in his 7 year carrer....
6 TD's - 2011
8 TD's - 2010
BJEG TD's ---- 29 TD's in his 4 year career....
13 TD's - 2011
11 TD's - 2010
Benson has 8 years of wear and tear and is the ripe age of 30 years old this year near the end of the season.....
BJEG has 4 years of wear and tear and is the ripe age of 27 years old this year......and that was three days ago....
Wow I really see the similarities in these guys don't you?. ...... Rhetorical and false.... No I see no comparison between these two other than they both play the same position. I always had love for Benson during our '09 AFC Championship run and felt he was the best thing to happen to our ground game since Rudi bust out on the scene, but unfortunately he showed everyone a Jekyll and Hyde act once he gained praise and never returned to true form. Why I have no clue other than his ego couldn't fit into his helmet. Once a great FA pickup, (He was sitting on his couch), turned into a monster on the field, he then became his own worst enemy by exiling himself from the team and the organization. I never got the feeling he took Scott under his wing and offered a leadership quality you need out of veterans. I for one am happy to see him go. The cancer of Benson was treated with one hell of a radiation just by moving forward without him, then its like we got a fresh new organ with BJEG. Fresher legs, a better attitude, and IMO will put a better product on the field.
